The Target Triumvirate: Measuring the Drivers of Culture

At Playbox, we don’t believe culture is just about “fit.”
It’s about whether individuals bring the attitudes and behaviours that actively strengthen workplace culture.

That’s why our tool, The Target Triumvirate, focuses on three proven culture drivers:

Psychological Safety → Do people help create an environment where ideas, risks, and challenges can be voiced without fear?

Collaboration → Do they build bridges, share knowledge, and bring others along in pursuit of team goals?

Goal Orientation → Do they stay focused, accountable, and aligned with organisational outcomes while balancing collaboration?


What makes this different?

Unlike traditional personality tests or culture surveys, our tool:

Assesses for signals in positive and integrity-orientated workplace behaviour.

It measures drivers, not personality traits,

Predicts contribution to culture health, not just “fit.”


Why it matters

The success of any strategy depends on the people behind it. Individuals who score strongly across the Triumvirate are more likely to:

Thrive in modern, dynamic workplaces,

Contribute positively to culture,

Drive innovation, performance, and retention.


This isn’t about excluding people who “don’t fit.”
It’s about identifying and developing people who will help your culture flourish.


Consistency: Our assessment pillars are currently showing strong indications of internal consistency. So, what does this mean? Essentially in plain terms, the tool is reliable - questions connect to show that they are measuring what they are intended to (alpha = .7+).


Correlation: The 3 main constructs explored in our assessment show moderate-to-strong correlations when statistical analysis is performed (r = .69 - .74). This means that those who score well in one area, can be expected to perform similarly well in the other pillars. Linear regression has revealed something even more interesting, however. Not only does Collaboration stand alone as a desirable trait, our test also shows that it can be a strong predictor of high performance in the other two pillars of our assessment.
